Lawley Primary School

A project set up to establish peer support for a key stage 2 pupil experiencing concentration and relationship difficulties.

A baseline of behaviours causing concern was established by the classroom teacher who also identified a group of pupils to form the circle of friends.

Six sessions were held focussing on discussing solutions and developing ideas.

A record of the identified strategies and resources was made available in the class for other teachers and pupils to access

The project has

• Increased understanding amongst pupils thereby reducing conflict
• Provided pupils with the skills to anticipate problems
• Encouraged pupils to be solution focussed in dealing with issues in the classroom
