Education Welfare Service

Head of Service: David Simpkins,

Principal Education Welfare Officer

The Education Welfare Service works with all schools and parents to ensure that every child of school age receives education.

This includes

  • monitoring of children's attendance at all maintained schools;
  • advice and support to schools and parents on pupil welfare and to ensure school attendance;
  • fulfilling the legislative requirements in the event of non-school attendance;
  • assisting in the provision of home school attendance.
